Dixie, I Call It Home

John Foster hails from Oklahoma. John's musical talents attracted the attention of country singer Sammy Kershaw, who saw him performing on stage, and invited him to join the Sammy Kershaw Band. John has also performed with the legendary Beach Boys, who on the recommendation of a mutual friend, challenged him on the spot to sing a few numbers over the phone, and were sufficiently impressed to send him a plane ticket in order to have him take over the high falsetto vocals written and originally performed by Brian Wilson. As a writer, John was on staff for several years with CDB Music Publishing-- owned by the great Charlie Daniels, who signed him as a writer in 2000, a time when other publishers were shrinking their staff numbers.

John is a tremendous talent and testimonials from atop of the musical world speak for themselves:

"John is an exceptional songwriter as well as performer!" Charlie Daniels "Johns Voice Was A wonderful addition to our Live Act!" Bruce Johnson, member of the Beach Boys

When Paul Ryan sent his song Dixie, I Call It Home was sent into NSAI, it was suggested he work with Foster on a demo. The result is a song that John performs, and Paul writes. The final recording is a little different than other ryantunes music in that it is a cross between country and acoustic styles.
